    The ReidBar™ Optimised Coupler is the most compact and installation‑friendly coupler ever developed in the ReidBar™ evolution. Engineered as a slim, short, high‑performance mechanical splice, its reduced body size significantly improves constructability - especially in congested reinforcement zones or thin precast elements. Despite its smaller footprint, it delivers full‑strength performance using ReidBar’s proven coarse‑thread system and the simple Cut & Connect method, supported by industry‑leading fatigue and seismic testing.

    Compliance confidence: Designed and tested to meet all NZS 3101, NZTA Bridge Manual, AS NZS 4671, and ISO 15835 requirements. Independently tested and engineer verified.

    Applications: These couplers are used in congested reinforcement layouts requiring compact connections, including precast wall panels, thin concrete sections, and prefabricated cages. They are well suited to seismic‑critical structures and are widely applied across major infrastructure such as bridges, transport systems, and large civil works, as well as high‑rise and commercial buildings.

    FS12 Mechanical Splice
    • Independently certified to ISO 15835 for full strength, high‑cycle fatigue, and seismic S2 (violent low‑cycle) performance, outperforming basic competitor couplers that are not fatigue‑rated.
    Fatigue Tested & Proven
    • Passed high‑cycle fatigue testing — including 2,000,000 cycles at 500 MPa upper stress on 32mm assemblies — and completed all S2 seismic low‑cycle fatigue requirements, consistently achieving ductile bar failure outside the coupler.
    Cut & Connect Simplicity
    • No bar-end threading or complex steps. Just cut the bar square, inject EPCON™ C8 Xtrem™, thread, tighten, and go — ideal for fast and repeatable onsite assembly.
    Optimised Coarse Thread for Slip Control
    • Prevents cross-threading and supports reliable engagement in horizontal and vertical applications.
    Full Structural Capacity
    • Every size verified to exceed tensile requirements with ductile bar failure outside the coupler, proving the system does not govern failure.
